Warehouse SupervisorKENAI PENINSULA BOROUGH SCHOOL DISTRICT Soldotna, Alaska NOTICE OF VACANCY August 27, 2026Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor Salary: $30.09/hr – Negotiations in ProgressReports To: Director of Planning & Operations Range: Exempt 6Location: Warehouse, District Office Hrs/Day: 8 hrs/day Soldotna, Alaska # of Days: 259Job PurposeTo supervise the operation of the KPBSD Warehouse and ensure the timely delivery of supplies throughout the District.Duties, Responsibilities, and Accountabilities1. Leadership: Recruits, trains and supervises storekeepers and driver/couriers. Oversees, assists, and ensures that all necessary tasks are performed in an efficient, effective, and safe manner. Assists with interviews and selection of potential employees. Exhibits a positive example as a school district representative.2. Warehouse Operations: Supervises loading, filling of stock orders, and receipt of supplies. Checks packing slips and purchase orders. Shelves, rotates, and places stock in proper areas. Returns incorrect merchandise to vendors. Enter work orders. Tags equipment with school district identification numbers. Responsible for surplus items and Auction.3. Administration: Supervises semi-annual physical inventory. Prepares the annual budget for the Warehouse. Keeps freight records, assists the Accounting Department in providing for proper payment of vendors, and keeps records of surplus equipment. Assists in filing claims for damaged merchandise. Prepares annual evaluations of warehouse employees.4. Delivery Operations: Supervises the deliveries of supplies to schools and offices. Ensures that deliveries are made according to schedule. Provides for maintenance and repairs of trucks and trailers. May operate trucks, heavy equipment and all other related Warehouse equipment. Responsible for pickup, repairs, and returns of district-owned moveable equipment. Oversees blood borne pathogens pickup program from school sites. Coordinates propane delivery to remote sites. Provides forklift training.5. Teamwork: Performs other related duties as required or assigned. Works cooperatively with school employees, students, and visitors. Maintains positive image and models exemplary work habits and appearance as an important role model.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities1. Requires proven skill in organizing and prioritizing work, supervising and instructing other in proper techniques, and providing leadership.2. Requires thorough knowledge of Warehouse operations and the requirements for supplies of the District. Requires knowledge of procedures for return of merchandise.3. Requires knowledge of all clerical facets of the Warehouse facility. Requires proficiency with accounting procedures for supplies and equipment and of elements of warehouse budget. Requires a thorough working knowledge of School District APECS System, word processing, and related computer programs.4. Requires knowledge of maintenance requirements of trucks and ability to oversee servicing of trucks and equipment. Requires possession of a valid Class A CDL Alaska State Drivers License, preference given for passenger endorsement. In-depth knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier's Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and Commercial Vehicles Safety Alliance (CVSA) out of service criteria. Ability to drive a truck and operate equipment efficiently. Must comply with all laws, rules and regulations pertaining to the safe operations of all related vehicles.5. Works with Transportation coordinator and Accounting Department to ensure payment of parts and repair invoices.6. Works closely with Purchasing Department and Transportation Coordinator in the preparation of bid specifications for all District vehicle purchases.Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees and supervisors.Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, and multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Other Skills and AbilitiesAbility to work in a friendly manner with co-workers and students. Ability to perform job and communicate in a noisy environment. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools or controls, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit and must be able to squat, stoop or kneel, reach above the head and reach forward. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
